The Asian qualifying zone (AFC) for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Finals sees the fianl ten teams divided into two groups.

The top two teams each of the final two groups automatically qualify for the FIFA World Cup™ Finals.

The two third-place teams will face off in a two-game playoff (home and away).

The winner of the playoff then meets the winner of the Oceania qualifying zone (OFC) in a two-game playoff (home and away) with the winner earning a berth at the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Finals.

The Oceania qualifying zone (OFC) for the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Finals sees four countries competing in a round-robin format, with each team playing each other home and away.

New Zealand, the top team in the final standings, meets the fifth-place team from the Asian qualifying zone (AFC) in a two-legged playoff, with the winner advancing to the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ Finals.
